In 1995 Andrea and her best friend Tina were honored by the City of Miami Beach for catching a thief on their skates. Andrea and Tina chased the crook through the alleys of South Beach until they caught, tackled him and held him until police arrived. This act landed them on the front page of the Miami Herald and then got picked up by Reuters News and reported world wide. Two weeks later Andrea and Tina were asked to be on the set of the Geraldo Rivera show as guests on a segment called "Women Fighting Back".
